I've been travelling for some time and it's been taking up a lot of my time. Mostly to new places and I like to stay focused on where I'm going to even if I'm not the one driving or anything.

After my long break from social media (Leofinance and Hive) I decided even though I'm not settled as much as I want to, I might as well start adjusting to my new normal as a medical doctor (rankhouse office AKA housemaid or house boy) who has no place to stay and is currently relying on an old friend to survive.

When I checked on Coin Telegraph (my favourite crypto news outlet...sorry Decrypt) I saw the weirdest news.

It was written by Brian Quarmy a writer in Asia who has been in love with crypto since 2013. In the article, some guy named Dan Berkovitz who so happens to be the commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission said that DeFi may not be a good idea.

Brian Quarm summarised the story into the title "CFTC boss says DeFi might be a bad idea after googling it"

I must warn you I don't know who either of the guys are but after reading the article I felt this familiar feeling of knowing that someone in power is not responsible enough to do research. Like what we see in Nigeria.

Same problems I have with Elon Musk.

Instead of having someone read and explain to you like a 5 year old and have people debate about the issue or watch YouTube videos to the point where you can have an opinion on the matter...he chose Wikipedia.

By the way if I was in such a position the last paragraph is a summary of what I would do.

Dan is from the Trump administration and has an art degree. I mention Trump cause I hate him...I also hate Joe but at least the old clown is planning on buying crypto with US money. I also mentioned he has an art degree cause it kind of means you have to dig deeper than first age of google if you'll understand DeFi enough to be telling people not to invest in it.

The guy also looks like he is at most in his late 40's...so Dan can't read anymore all of a sudden because he's too old.

I'd like to know what other people think about his take on the matter and how bad it might hit DeFi.
