THE STEEM COIN RISING!

in #story7 years ago

This has been a great week for Steem for a long while now. At one point the price of Steem was below $1 - at $0.95, causing a bit of a panic. It is yet to surpass Sunday's peak of $1.54 but still on the right course towards breaching that today. Steem opened the day at $1.34 and is currently sitting a $1.48, marking a 12.43% increase in the last 24hours.

We're still a bit further from an all time high of $4.93 from last year July, but this is a testament of how quickly things can change. We could see the price reach highs of $10 per Steem and join the ten-dollar club then the hundred-dollar club. Before you know it Steemit would have over taken Facebook for the number 1 spot.

But as I said before we are still further from that happening as there's still some changes and improvements to be done. Steemit is still in beta stages after all and I'm glad that I'm one of the lucky few to be one of the first pioneers to participate in the future of social media. I'm thankful for visionaries like @ned and @dan who made all this possible. I look forward to the future of this platform and the wonderful community of people it accomodates.

I urge everyone on here to respect the platform at the very least and try to make it as fun and valuable for the community and newbies. We all came here for the money at some point but once we really understood what the idea of this platform was we couldn't help but love it. It has become the first choice for many of us. To be honest I was never into social media and Steemit became the only exception.

I read about all my favorite topics from real people, news from real people and I get introduced to new lifestyles and fresh ideas. As there is a stream of new decentralized articles it is easy to come across such content, just yesterday I read an article written in Korean and gained a different perception about Koreans.

One thing I don't like about centralized social media like Facebook is that the content is filtered based on so many criterias that it's almost impossible to read fresh content. It almost feels like you're in a small box and your perception is limited because of centralization.

Why are you on Steemit? What are the things that you like about the platform as I'm sure there are many? I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Thank you for reading!
