The Charade of Peace

Despite the fact that I'd much rather 'be' than 'say' these days, there still comes times when I feel it necessary to speak my truth. With the 'peace' talks starting between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump, I find that I must comment on the difference between the propaganda taking place and the reality of what is going on.

It always surprises me, when circumstances like this takes place, at how quickly people jump aboard the 'hype' train, thinking that something miraculous has happened. In this case, many people have put aside their distrust for Trump, thinking that he has suddenly proven himself to be a peacemaker, and that all his judgemental rhetoric of North Korea has simply gone by the wayside. To this I'll let the Apostle Paul respond...

Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. - Ephesians 4:14

The more I understand myself, and my own long journey out of the darkness and into the light, the more I see the reality of the fallen. King David saw clearly that there was a way that seemed right to men, but that it was a way that always ended in death, and this way still continues in the minds of fallen men today. I've come to call it the 'bipolar' mind, where man goes from perceiving one extreme understanding to the other, never actually reconciling these viewpoints into a single integrated truth, but believing that both, although contrary, are true.

I believe that such a reality is natural for the sheep of the world, as they do not know truth, so they flip between perspectives, considering that either could be true, in order to learn to see rightly. But the leaders of the world are not sheep, far from it, so it is unreasonable to assume that they are fooled by their own contradictory understandings of reality. Instead, what they promote, being rage one day and peace the next, is more akin to displays of propaganda, which are nothing more than manipulations of the minds of the citizens, keeping them fooled about what is really going on.

Kim Jong Un fought against US pressure long enough to gain the ability to strike the US with nuclear weapons. Now that he has the means to do so, he is in a position to negotiate his equal place amongst the world powers. His cries for nuclear disarmament are insincere, because that would betray all his efforts to date, and once again leave him at the mercy of the US, who he sees as, and who is, an enemy of the North Korean regime. Any discussion of peace from his perspective is about maintaining equality through retaliatory strength.

Donald Trump knows this. He is going along with this charade because he has other motives.

But putting those two players in this peace game aside, I'm more concerned with those who are watching this and believing that it is real. It most certainly is not real, but designed to fool people into thinking that it is, and this is actually happening on a large scale.

The truth cannot be seen with a bipolar mind. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil will always substitute truth with duality, where people will accept two contradictory truths, rather than the virtuous objective truth of God. I cannot judge the naive for eating the fruit of this tree and believing what they see, but there must come a time when the naive learn from their experiences and begin to see the reality of the godly. Out of youth must come maturity, and the bipolar mind must eventually become wise to its failings.

There is a mind for us all that is above the mind of the fallen. It is the mind of Christ, the mind of the reconciled heart, whereby that which we see as Good and that which we see as Evil are revealed as mirror images of each other, and a united mind is discovered: the holy Tree of Life.

You can continue to be fooled by the actors who perform in this great play: The Good and Evil Show, or you can seek to become wise to those who lead this merry dance and find your way back to your Father in heaven. As always, the choice is yours, but be sure, the lies will lead to eventual death. A contradictory heart cannot survive for long before it gives up its spirit, and the wilfully ignorant will have wasted their lives.
