Earn money by surfing the Internet? Is that even possible?

Boredom is usually the tipping point to change something, even if it's just something on the computer. For me, it was once freezing the Chrome browser too much. Actually, it works quite well, but now needs over an eighth of the 8GB RAM that my weak computers have.
That wouldn't bother me if one of the laptops wasn't an Ideapad from Lenovo in the original configuration (yes, I know).

This one has its fan hissing furiously at startup and I'm sensitive to noise. It also takes 3 minutes to boot up because for 3 years I was too stingy to buy an SSD or at least move the thousands of pictures to an external drive so they don't get scanned every time.

The second computer is not much better. Meanwhile already 4 years old, with passive cooling. I bought this one only because of its fanless cooling, even if it mostly downclocks in the tropics. I now like it because I can use it without a keyboard or both computers with the keyboard from the Ideapad and sharemouse. Also, its screen is much better than this cloudy thing from the IdeaPad, where every photo looks gray.

Somewhere here I read about someone who even makes money with his browser and I like money when it doesn't make work. So go for it.

Brave and Cryptotap-browser.

First the common one.
Both are based on the open source code from Chromium. So all the extensions I use before with Chrome itself should work there too. The installation was easy, settings and synchronization worked as well, so I was done with it after an hour. And the nice thing is that each of the browsers used less memory than Chrome before. So all good.
But which one I decide to use now, that's what the test should bring. Can you really make money with it?

Brave

In the meantime I have become a bit more skeptical when something is advertised as offering a better world. Brave is supposed to fend off advertising in advance and thus not burden my traffic, which is an advantage for me, who is mostly mobile on the net (around 120GB/month). I guess it does that, at least it shows it. A few quirks he also has, he does not like every website, he has trouble not only with some streaming sites, but also with Spiegelonline, which can be reasonably. But you can also set that up.

Make money with Brave.

If you want to earn money, you have to watch Brave's paid advertisements. To do this, you need to create an account with Uphold, set the frequency of delivered ads and click on them. In return, Brave pays out a few of its own coins once a month.
My points of criticism:

  • It is mandatory to set up a verified account at Uphold with one's personal data.
  • Every restart of the browser brings the irritating message that the account at Uphold is not yet verified.
  • Once reinstall the browser and the collected coins are gone, at least that's what happened to me when I did it for testing purposes
  • But the really annoying thing is: I got about 100 advertising pages in the 2 weeks, for which I should get about 0.53 BAT = 0.65USD. That would be fine if it wasn't constant repetitions. I am interested in new things, but 15 times Texos, EToro, NORDVPN... this is so annoying. You get a message, leave your current page by clicking on it and see the same ad that you have seen umpteen times.

CryptoTab Browser

The browser really mines Monero, but pays out in Bitcoin whenever the balance exceeds 0.50USD, even several times a day. I don't need to care about that, because it took me 10 days with the Acer, which is old and weak.
Yet. Because this browser has a 10 level affiliate program installed, so you also get some satoshis from your network. I pinned once a link to my Twitteraccount and already one! Miner , which also works. Currently, I am after the 2 weeks in total at 0.76 USD, so even more than the Brave (but what is justifiable at the loss by reinstallation.) The utilization of the computer is moderate, at the time of the screenshot of the task manager is running a video stream, the browser with 9 tabs, WhatsApp, Thunderbird, FB messenger, Skype and Telegram. The mining speed fluctuates around 1000 Hs, so it is really not much.

Booster and speed

The browser advertises paid boosters up to 15x speed, but that makes you dependent and there are certainly better ways to buy into a mining farm. I'll leave that for now.
I don't need to adjust anything on this computer, it regulates itself down when it gets too warm. I first had it running on the Ideapad, where the hashrate was 2300, but the fan noise! I had to turn it down to around 1000 to make it inaudible.

Conclusion for the laptops.

The CryptoTab browser is the clear winner for me,

  • no annoying ad repetitions that interrupt the work flow
  • smooth running even with afk
  • the possibility to build a network and participate in it
Here is my link if you want to try it.

Mobile usage

After reading the reviews of the CryptoTab browser on Google Play, I refrained from installing it on my Android phone: First, you have to restart it every 2 hours, and second, the thing is in the sun so often that I don't need more heat. The Brave is better, especially since the advertising is only a swipe away.

You probably won't get rich doing this,
but maybe it is fun to learn,
how far such a network will run?

Have a good time.

This is a post I posted a few days ago on, my native language. My English skills are far from perfect, I couldn't translate it like this without help. But for me, posting in English is not only in the hope of finding new readers, but I am also learning to use the language better.
Please be forgiving if you find strange phrasing. The best thing is to give me a response. This is the only way I can learn to do it better.
