@dwingsworld remodel #ULOG #2

Good Day all and welcome to D Wings World!! As many of you know I just recently completed a long remodel of my upstairs today i will share the beginnings of that remodel and set the foundation for a few post on the topic. Also, this will be a new #ULOG series from me. To begin with I want to show the basics of the room. Unfortunately, my first photos of the rooms were lost but I will try to illustrate what they were prior to the work you will see. Here you will see the basic shapes of the rooms. They have flat ceilings covered in 1 foot by 1 foot cardboard squares. Then the walls follow the roof line leading to knee walls with accesses to the crawl spaces. The larger of the two rooms had a closet, a dormer, and a built in dresser as you can see below.

Above, you can see the existing closet in the slightly larger room. Also, that paneling inside is what used to cover the walls of both rooms. Extremely dated and really not the best, but it worked and was affordable. The house itself was built around 1950, so I was not surprised by how the rooms were constructed. A plus that you can see a little of in the photos is the hard wood floor made of pine. Pine was used upstairs because that was seen as a less important area. Downstairs were company and friends would be usually used a more expensive wood. In the case of this home it was oak, however both are awesome and great considering that real hardwood floors today are considered extremely high quality.
This post will show that all the paneling was covered with drywall and the next will focus on the closets. That is correct closest because I added one to the smaller of the two rooms.

Thanks D Wing
