STEEMCHURCH: Vineyard workers’ wages
Greetings to you all great steemians of the @steemchurh, I will be talking about another interesting topic today the parable of 'Vineyard workers’ wages' I pray as you read God will bless you IJN.in the book Matthew 19:27 Peter ask Jesus Christ this question that "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?" Jesus now answer with the parable In (Matthew 20:1-16)
1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
THE MASTER BROUGHT IN WORKERS ON DIFFERENT TIMES
If we take a good look at this passage very well,we will see that the grammar and the vocabulary is all straight forward, we can easily understand what the passage is saying.the kingdom of heaven represent the vineyard and the master or the landowner is our Lord,The work begin early, perhaps at sunrise, and those wanting to work gathered in one spot, the landowner came and offer work.By mid-afternoon, 3:00 p.m the landowner did the same,The work goes on and at 5:00 p.m., the eleventh hour, the need for workers is still there, so the owner goes out and finds people without work and he also hired them,The emphasis on wages in the outworking of the event means that this story is primarily about God’s gifts, or rewards, for faithful service. But the length of service and the amount of work does not determine what the reward is.
ALL PAID THE SAME EQUAL SALARY FOR THE DAY’S WORK
After a long day of work and the day came to an end,the master called his steward to pay the workers.he first paid the workers who came last,They received the pay for a full day’s work.so the workers that have been working all day thought they will be paid more but they were wrong and they all received the same thing, a full day’s wages.the workers that have been working all day murmur among themselves about what were been paid to them but the landowner simply had to remind them of the facts of the case, and that ended the discussion.God is generous and gracious to all.The message through this parable is obvious. Those called and chosen at the “last” have access to God’s Kingdom just as those called and chosen at the start of the day.
THE LANDOWNER PAYS HIS WORKERS WELL BECAUSE IT IS BY GRACE.
You must have been asking yourself the kind of work they are doing but it doesn't matter, what matter is that we must be willing to enter the vineyard and work. We must make ourselves available for God the landowner to find us.We have to want to work and we have to endure to the end of the workday, however long that might be for each of us.How the Lord treats all of His servants is by grace not who came first or who came last get the highest or lowest rewards respectively.not Until when the workers were approached by God, they had no work.If God had not found them and arranged for them to enter his vineyard( his kingdom),they would have remained doing nothing. No one can complain that such a gracious provision is unfair unless they think that everything must be based in a legal arrangement. Everyone should always give thank to God for this great the opportunity for service.
I will like to say a very big thank you to all apostles of the steemchurch under the leadership of great @sirknight
