Pond Update for May : Everything looking good
Starting with the Micro Pond. The Micro Pond is now looking great and seems to be fully balanced with plants coming on nicely. The water clarity looks great and the wildlife is loving it. Birds are visiting daily and the frogs are at home hiding from the magpies.
The top pond is coming on well with the baby black goldfish slowly changing colour. The reeds are just starting to grows and the water lilies have made it to the surface. Even the insect life is back with ponds skaters and whirly gig beetles.
I'm still working on a way to clean the water without a pump and filter. More on that later.
The lower pond is looking a bit worst for wear. I'm in the process of repairing the decking and upgrading the pump. Although the surrounding area is looks tatty the pond itself is looking good with water lilies at the surface and the oxygenaters growing fast.
I've managed to upgrade the filters with a better cleaning system. So they now can be run day and night. Hopefully a week of constant running with make the water clarity much better.
