Years ago when i was a kid. There used to be a rookery in almost every wood we played in. I always remember how noisy they were in the large groups of nests.

I remember two major rookeries at the local park and another two at the larger park where there were lots of woodlands.

There was also a large rookery next to were i used to work in later life.

But today all are gone and i can't remember the last time i saw a large rookery.
Have these birds disappeared or just moved on.

I could also say the same about bull finches and chaffinches that you never see any more.
