HOMEMADE JERKY/HOMESTEADING

Homemade jerky is one of my favorite treats.
We make our own from whatever meat we have available. It is sliced with the grain for chewg jerky and against the grain for jerky that crumbles in your mouth. About 1/5" thick. It is marinated with the mixture of soy,garlic,onion,crack of pepers,liquid smoke and hot pepper flakes for 24hours. I then dry it in either the smoker or in a food dehydrator for anywhere from 8 to 14 hours. It keeps a long time and is DELICIOUS!
