VIDEO GAME REVIEW // Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic arts. Released on October 21, 2016. Despite its name Battlefield 1 is the 15th installment in the battlefield series. This game follows the many stories of different soldiers from all aspects of combat during World War 1. It can be played on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Now for those who enjoy online gameplay, I won't be touching on that. I don't really play online, ever. I'm much more interested in the story mode of the game. And as far as that goes, this game is fucking amazing. The first level you play is incredibly intense and amazingly put together. You play as an American soldier fighting against German forces in a war torn setting of absolute chaos. NO ONE IS MEANT TO SURVIVE. You fight and you fight, and each time you die, you're re-spawned as another person altogether. This cycle repeats up until you beat the level. I thought this was an amazing way to start out the story mode. It goes to show you that war is absolute insanity, and more than not many men who fought in the war, knew that they would NOT make it out alive. This level was a perfect depiction of just that.

When you're ready to start the other stories in this game, you're brought to a menu that displays the earth, and each level selection is a different location that is shown on the face of the earth. You can choose to play "Through Mud And Blood" where you play as a group of soldiers who operate a Tank through a war torn Europe. Or you can play "The Runner" where you storm a beachhead in the Ottoman Empire and shoot it out with your enemies. The graphics, the story and the gameplay in this game were phenomenal. I enjoyed playing the story mode quite a bit, just was a bit disappointed by how short it was. You can sit and play this game and beat the story mode in one single day. Sometimes I don't like that. Overall though, this game definitely gets a 5/5. Amazing story mode.
