School Of Rock is the story of slacker Dewey Finn who is kicked out of his own band, and on top of that unemployed and being hassled by his roommate for the rent money. After picking up the phone one day, he pretends to be his roommate and gets offered a job as a substitute teacher at an elementary private school. At first it's just a job to get money, but after seeing how musically gifted these kids are, he decides to make up a project for them to compete in battle of the bands. It was released on October 3, 2003 and was directed by Richard Linklater.

Starring a mostly child cast, but still pretty good:
Jack Black
Sarah Silverman
Mike White
Joan Cusack
Miranda Cosgrove
Joey Gaydos Jr.
Robert Tsai
& Kevin Alexander Clark

This movie is definitely enjoyable for the family. Mostly for a younger audience, if you ask me, but definitely a good one if you're a fan of Jack Black and classic rock music. I'm a fan of both, so I really enjoyed this movie. I was a kid myself when this movie came out, so, that probably has a lot to do with it as well. Watching Jack Black pretend to be a teacher is pretty funny. All the parts where he almost gets caught by the principal but some how comes up with some way to dust her off real quick. It's pretty funny. It's also cool to see just how good these kids are at playing their instruments. It almost amazes you and makes you wonder, where the hell did they find these kids.

I also enjoyed the soundtrack for this movie as well. It had hits from bands such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Nicks and The Ramones as well as a few originals from the movie. I bought this soundtrack and listened to it for weeks. Still got the original songs from the movie on my iPod. Definitely fun to listen to when I'm driving around. I give this movie a 5/5. Strictly because I remember watching it all the time and loving it when I was younger. Give it a watch!

Thanks for sharing.

This is an excellent movie, I habe to say though it's for adults and kids. I used to watch it even when you kids weren't home. My fave is how he always had a story to get out of the lies. Great review and the movie is awesome I loved it. " you're fat and you have bad body odor." lol
