The Mink Coat Killa LP is the latest release from Atlanta rapper Jarren Benton, released on June 23, 2017. Released through Benton Enterprise. This is Jarren's first release after the break up of independent rap label Funk Volume, of which Jarren belonged to along with Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, SwizZz & DJ Hoppa. Many were left wondering what kind of moves each artist would be making after the surprising break up. I was glad to see that Jarren hasn't slipped up one bit. That's for damn sure. But then again, why would he? Right?

Songs That Stand Out:

#1 God Intro
Produced by Spittzwell & Jarren Benton
Whenever the first song of the whole album is the shit, that's a good sign. And that definitely was the case for this one for sure. Just Jarren being Jarren. Straight spittin', not givin' a fuck. Sets out the perfect vibe for the rest of the album.

#10 The Break Up
Featuring Bingx
I thought this song was interesting because it was definitely a song about his Break Up with his wife. He kind of tells it all in this one, gets down to how he cheated on her and all that. Give it a listen, it's interesting, for sure.

#12 Fuck Everybody
Produced by The Coalition
This one is one that maybe a lot of people can relate to. Feeling down on yourself, feeling like you hate absolutely everyone. Listen to this song. Jarren spends the whole song talking about everyone he doesn't like, including himself. It's interesting, and really goes to show how we can get when shit ain't going so well.

#15 The Stylist
Outro. Should have been a regular track instead of a bonus track in my opinion. This would have perfectly tied out the album. I think it's awesome when the intro and the outro so perfectly start the vibe for the album off, then end it strong. Perfectly executed in this particular album. Jarren's dope as fuck, for sure.
