Sunday Scent Experience
Although it felt more like spring than winter, the inside of the house felt more like it was still hanging on to the chill. It had none of that cozy warm feeling you want when your body claims it is still in recovery.
Lies! It is all better. Food poisoning doesn't last forever. Heh.
I decided to turn up the heat, but the air is so dry, even with a humidifier attached to the furnace, I wanted to add a little extra moisture and loveliness. So, I used a leftover orange that wasn't in peak condition although, perfect for this, and I picked out a lemon.
I cut them up into pieces and put them in a pan. I fill the pan with water, almost to the top
I take out the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and put the various amount of it in the water. I use liberal amounts. I love the smell it gives my house. It has a clean, wonderful scent to it.
I know it is not very scientific, but, it gives a calm feeling knowing that when I walk back through that door, I will be met by the scent of heaven. I love it during the holidays, but, honestly, I am always making a homemade potpourri, scenting the house in a most delightful way.

MMMM... I just put some oranges in my homemade sangria!
I do this quite often with various fruit off my trees. It gives the house a heavenly scent and makes it feel more cosy and welcoming.
