So much disruptive (blockchain) tech just around the corner...
The promise of crypto is not accurately represented by its $ value. To be honest, I have no idea what value crypto tokens should have. Because the whole token and ICO (Initial Coin Offering) system is actually the tip of the disruptive technology iceberg set to hit so many sectors of the economy over the next few months and years.
The only way I see this playing out is that crypto will take over the net in the next five years. It may be in a different form to that which it is taking now (ie no ICOs and no tokens), but I doubt it.
This system hasn't been designed from the top down and retrofitted onto game-changing tech.
No. This system has been designed from the ground up as the most efficient way to create blockchain innovation - by the designers themselves.
There are no built in middle-management inefficiencies in this system. And yes, effective governance and trust is a thing for crypto, but that will come with the onset of tighter (not too tight, we hope) regulation at the government level.
So here are a few blockchains (cryptocurrencies) to watch, if you haven't got them on your radar yet:
- EOS - https://eos.io This is, in my (untutored and non-financially qualified) opinion, a total game-changer. This one is set to provide an operating system that any blockchain can plug in to. This is Microsoft for Internet 3.0. According to the Block.one website:
Block.one believes Blockchain technologies have the potential to become the next mainstream infrastructure for communication and commerce, and can introduce new freedoms while streamlining compliance and universal interoperability. The company is committed to the technological and regulatory innovation required to push forward on common ground for developers, users, businesses, and regulatory agencies around the world.
- Chimaera - https://chimaera.io/?ref=2VJVMFB47THR Another game-changer (no pun intended), this one for gaming. Gives game developers the infrastructure they need to build any game, no matter how comprehensive, including local game-based economies. Who knows where this one will end (and it's still in its ICO phase)? From the website:
Imagine countless millions of players competing and co-operating in decentralised virtual realities that run serverless and unstoppable. Our years of experience have resulted in some of the most innovative technologies in cryptocurrency that ensure safe trading and near infinite scalability.
- Manna - - https://www.mannabase.com/?ref=3ac18f2d78 Again, a massive and optimistic undertaking: the provision of a universal basic income for all people. If this takes off, it will be huge for charities, for micro loans and philanthropy, for making the world a better place. From the website:
Manna is distributed by the People’s Currency Foundation as a basic human right that every person in the world is eligible to receive, for free. Founded in 2015, Manna has achieved milestones in the cryptocurrency movement, as the first blockchain-based currency to be created and distributed by a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, and the first digital currency to implement a Universal Basic Income as its primary method of distribution.
This is just the beginning, but it is enough, I believe, to demonstrate the overwhelmingly disruptive intent and capability of blockchain tech. It's coming. Are you ready?

Nice post, resteemed.
Thanks 🌞
EOS is definitely the next evolution in the crypto space as they are trying to solve for many of the challenges most assets have had until now. Specifically, scalability would be of particular attention as they want to ensure that Dapps are able to continue developing on their platform with sufficient bandwidth. It will be an interesting next couple of weeks to see how it performs leading into the official launch and distribution of their coins.
Yep
Very interesting couple of months ahead I think!
Thanks for listing some of these projects, I knew EOS of course but not so familiar with manna and chimera. Going to look into them.
Enjoy!
I like the fearless and therefore generous way you look the world.
Thanks for those overviews, I also concur with your outlook on the crypto space needing to move from speculation and into disruptive benefit.
Nice picks, I will look for Mana, I know of a Mana that is about virtual reality, but this is obviously a different one.
Huh, the chimaera one is new to me. At the moment, I have been looking for things that will form the backbone of AI or identity verification (for automated cars).
