My studio: Concept approval received, now for the project plan

My wife is great. So cool.
We have worked out how I can get what I want from my study (soon to be studio) while creating an environment which she is happy with too. So I effectively have approval to start the project.
Woo hoo!
Now I have to make it happen - and so it won't drag on forever, we have set a timeframe. September 13.
I have some work to do!
But the project manager and evaluator in me would never forgive me if I set off without a plan. So here I begin my real planning.
DRAFT Scope of work
Phase 1 - preparation
- Categorise room contents into:
Stuff to be thrown away:
- secure document destruction (organise security bin)
- recycle (either through normal collection or by curb-side cleanup)
- regular garbage
Stuff to keep for refurbished studio
Stuff to keep (longer term storage (on a one in, one out basis))
- Remove/protect stuff to keep for refurbished studio
Phase 2 - alterations
- Building work:
Buy replacement ceiling fans (including for other parts of the house) - line up electrician to install
Order 'hopper' windows (including for other parts of the house) - line up builder to install
Buy bars for windows (including for other parts of the house) - line up builder to install
- Investigate caulking floor as part of the building process
- Paint room
- Paint/lacquer any bookshelves which will stay
Phase 3 - finalisation
- Buy new cupboards/cabinets for storage (glass windows)
- Buy spare bed? Consider options
- Unpack stuff to keep for refurbished studio
- Enjoy!
As you can see there is a fair amount of work to do here - much of it requiring items to be prepared in advance to enable installation on the day.
It will also require some time when my wife is away to enable me to move things about in the house to let the building/painting work to be done.
Next step will be to get a basic project plan to sketch the tasks against timeframes (these can overlap and it's not necessarily a linear process). I'll obviously need to scout out the fans, bars for the windows and a carpenter for the hoppers pretty quickly in case they have to be manufactured or imported etc.
Exciting times!

Normally at this stage - in doing any DIY job I decide upon - involves lot of beer, sitting down for hours, and procrastinating for at least 6 months...just to hammer out the details, you understand..
Good luck matey!
Gotta love the simple pleasures in life... I wonder if this is how my husband feels when he gets “concept approval” for a project?
Iove the update, HATE the fact you had to get ‘approval’ for it.
