Making the most of steemit - boosting your posts

Boosting your posts is an effective way to build your Steem Power.

So this is old news for many on steemit, but with the growth our great community is experiencing its worth repeating and sharing with our newbie steemers.

What am I talking about?

Well, the way steemit is built, if you have loads of Steem Power, your upvote can be worth a lot - depending on how you set it (if you have over 500 Steem Power, you get to use a slider to say how much your upvote is worth).

So, some accounts use their upvotes to attract an income. Some of these accounts are more altruistically inclined than others, but all those listed below perform the function of using their upvotes to boost your posts - for a price. And the price is SBD (Steem-based dollars).

How does it work?

So it's a very simple process. You simply transfer the required amount of SBD to the account you have choosen to boost your post, and put the link to the post in the tranfer memo space (this bit is important!)

If all goes smoothly, within a few hours (and usually much faster) you will either get your post boosted, or your SBD returned.

A few tips

Okay, so while the idea is to slowly boost your Steem Power, I recommend you use the 50/50 option between powering up and receiving SBD. This is because the whole thing slowly turns into a virtuous circle, with the SBD rewards you receive becoming the same SBD you use to boost your next post.

Make sure you spell the name of the account right - ie randowhale (correct) NOT randomwhale!! (an account which catches the SBDs sent through by those who don't check their spelling!)

The other tip is to choose which account you use wisely. By this I mean, some are geared for newbies, others are more for steemers with some resources behind them.

This account is very cool. But the trick here is to check the site to see what you can send - at the moment the minimum send is 1 SBD, the daily maximum will be 5 SBD and the weekly maximum will be 15 SBD.

With this one, you probably want to send more than 2 SBD to make it worthwhile. I try to send above 4.
