Salvation and its accompaniments

Salvation, forgiveness of sin and redemption stand out as the main reason why Christ died on the cross and shed His blood as atonement.

However there are some “extras” or “attached benefits” to the salvation we have through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

One of them is revealed in the book of hebrew chapter 9 which is victory over death.

“... That He might through death, destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”.^{(Heb 9 vs. 14 & 15).}

Through the death of Christ and His triumphant resurrection, Christians have victory over death. That is not to say faithful Christians will not die physically, but death will not be end of it all.
We have hope of resurrection and eternal life in immortality.
The worst the devil can do to our physical life is death, which to Christians is the beginning of a new life.
This victory comes with our salvation, when we give our life to Christ, enter into a new relationship with Him and remain faithful till the end.

Death had been swallowed up in victory and we can then boldly say “death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory”.

Beloved, let‘us not for the fear of death put ourselves in bondage. As we praise God today for the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, let us thank God for His great salvation and be determined to live Victoriously in Christ.

The accompaniments of salvation through the blood of Christ is numerous, our conscience is purged from dead works and thoughts and made ready to serve the living God.
By means of His death, we have redemption of our transgressions.

There is also the promise of eternal inheritance. Our conscience is purged and purified from all dead and unfruitful works.
A conscience and heart that will appreciate himself/ herself as a sinner, believe that Christ died and rose again and humble himself/herself to accept the great salvation, must have had some previous thoughts and works removed from it.
Such conscience/ heart has been tendered and soften to some extent and stand a‘very good chance of being entreated, built up and perfected in godliness.

This is surely a “value-added salvation”; not only the forgiveness of past sins, but also a conscience / heart purged, purified and made ready for godly service.
We need the precious blood of Christ to purge our consciences from this death and its working; and to lift us into holy and heavenly life! God is not the God of the dead, but of the living! God accepts not the dead sacrifice, but the living sacrifice.
We must not bring our dead faith or our dead words as an offering to God! Our prayers must be with emotion; our praises with gratitude; our testimonies with sincerity and our gifts with love.
Otherwise they will be dead and, consequently, unacceptable.

We must present a living sacrifice to the living God, or we cannot hope to be accepted; and for this reason we greatly need the blood of Christ to purge our conscience from dead works.

Hebrews 2 vs 9-15

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Salvation is the eternal spiritual deliverance from suffering and death, it embodies the idea of victory, health and resurrection.
Salvation is a product of faith and work.
