TimeFlip is a time-tracking gadget simple enough that I might actually use it

If you're like me, and I'm going to assume you're in this job, you like the idea of time tracking, but in general, it's a little too tricky or complicated. TimeFlip is a super simple gadget that allows you to easily track how much time you spend on different activities while flipping around.

He is a dodecahedron with a small accelerometer inside that can tell which side he is sitting on. All you do to make it work is flip it around so that the side corresponding to what you are doing is in place; the chip sends a signal inside via Bluetooth to an application on your phone.

Reply to emails? Return to the email side. Take a break to watch some videos on YouTube? Turn! Off to the gym? Turn!

It comes with a bunch of stickers with icons representing common activities and websites: shopping, eating, reading ... there is even one to procrastinate. And there are many blank ones that you can print or write on if you spend a lot of time doing something not represented there, like knife fights or knitting.

Be warned, you need to sign up for an account so that it can back up your online business - you can log in to take notice in the comfort of your laptop. I would just like that soon without this feature, myself, but unfortunately it is necessary.

The device has been out for a while, but has only been available in limited quantities in the United States via the TimeFlip website. Fortunately, the creator, Ilya Tarasov, told me at CES that it should be available on Amazon from February.

I'm playing with a fair for last week and it seems like a great way to easily do basic tracking. You can buy a kit with a ready-to-go TimeFlip for $ 50 or print your own speaker and just order the sensor.
