Ed Woodward picks Man Utd's top director of football target to help seal transfer deals | Football | Sport | Express.co.uk
Manchester United hope Edwin van der Sar will agree to become the club’s first director of football.
The former Netherland goalkeeper became a club hero at Old Trafford after he was signed by former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson from Fulham.
He left United back in 2011 having won ten trophies, including four Premier League titles and winning the Champions League in the 2007/08 season.
Van der Sar is now the chief executive of Ajax, the club where he began his career.
