Making a Living Doing What I Love — THANK YOU — Celebrating 1000 Followers
Hey friends,
I just want to say thank you to all of you.
I've found my muse again.
For years I didn't really play much music. I'm still in a creative profession, publishing books and so on. But I feel all of my different skills crashing together in this place, anchored down by music.
It feels like I'm sitting on my front porch. Out my window I can see the sunshine, the blue sky, and a beautiful day. I miss my dog Maria, who used to sit down there near that tree.
I've achieved a PhD and so many other things; I started my own business. But to make a living at doing what you love; that's something I always talk about. It's such a hustle for so many musicians, so many artists, so many writers. This place really makes a difference in our lives.
I also see my work here changing. I see my own personality coming out even more. I want to decentralize life; I want to play music, record video, sit here with my guitar.
I started on January 2nd, and I wrote a post with probably my favorite picture in the world. A picture of me and my dear Maria, our Golden Retriever, who left us just before Christmas. I love that girl, and it's still on my mind a couple of months later.
My first post got about 3 cents, and is probably the most profound thing I've written on here. Even the title represents who I am, and why I'm here.
Shout out to @harshilpatel and @terrybrock for getting me on this platform in the first place.

Wow, what a ride it has been for you here! I remember seeing your early posts, and knowing exactly what feeling you were talking about with Maria. That’s when I first really relates to you and it’s been such a pleasure to follow you.
You are one of the most genuine and positive people I’ve had the joy of sharif a community with and you deserve the immense amount of success you’ve had. What’s amazing about that is that, it’s YOUR success, and you’re making a creative passion into something prosperous. I wish you all the best luck my friend, thanks for being you!

Your openness brings tears Kent, seriously. Humanity radiates from you and I love that I've found you on here. I could listen to your music all day long. And with 50 tracks on DSound, maybe I'll do just that tomorrow!
I got a glimpse into the openness of my soul when my mum died in 2016 and it was profound and changed me. This platform makes me feel that way too. It's a little strange. I didn't even know I was looking for it, and yet... here it is. I'm blessed.

I think your doing fine and making the right conclusions on this great journey. Great to see / hear that picking up the old habbit (guitar and making music) is really enriching your life again. You sure enrich ours :)... I know the pain about losing a pet... It is indeed one of your own, kids... It will always be a empty spot in where there used to be your pall.... Keep it up @drkent , deeply respect what you achieve and are doing on 'our' steemit...
