DTube Exclusive — I'm Playing With Myself! / Studio Recording [Recorded Live Today] Gospel Plow — Daily Vlog #14
Hey Steemians! I recorded this LIVE in my office today, with only my Blue Yeti mic, and in three takes (one with the guitar and voice, the second with the banjo, and the third with the upright bass). The tune is called Gospel Plow, and is traditional. I've been playing it since I was a kid.
This wasn't easy for me to edit / but I'm excited that I was able to pull it off, and I'm looking forward to trying another one of these (no jokes about playing with yourself, please!
Have a brilliant weekend everyone!
We are alive.

I love this brother!! I don't think I have to tell you to keep at it lol :D Im just looking forward to the day we meet!! That's all what I can say :)
Winny out...for now ;)
Hey man, thanks! I really appreciate it. I also am looking forward to meeting. I'll be in Berlin sometime next summer, possibly / a buddy of mine is getting married there in August, I think.
Oh wow!! I hope you come bro!! Really wish I can meet you ma man!! :)
Winny out...for now ;)
Likewise :)
Unbelievable.
What sound profile do you have the Yeti set on? It sounds like different people playing in different parts of the room, a la surround sound :)
Hey Ade! So, I have some good secrets to the Yeti working like an awesome mic :) Ha!
For years, I have used the Yeti (this is my second / the first one died a silent death about a year ago). Do you also have one?
First, I get it off the desk with a simple swiveling desk stand (not sure what they are called), and a Yeti mic mount. Drop me a note on Discord and I can give you more details.
The other secret is to use the cardioid pattern on the mic, and to set the gain EXTREMELY LOW. (That step is counterintuitive, but if it's hotter in terms of gain, it will pick up all the background noise :)
I do. I love it. I've had it for about 5 years now and it still looks brand new because I treat it like a human child haha. I put it away for a while in favour of a dynamic microphone because I lived in a pretty noisy area it picked up everything even at low gain :)
Now I'm back to quieter days, so it's back out now. Awesome stuff.
Hi Ade,
That's absolutely true. Did you ever put the Yeti up on an arm? It is totally different once you do that. Then you can put the gain down at like 0.5 ... I also have a cool Cardioid mic, but the Yeti works great! If it ain't broke ...
Oh! And on the panning / that's just exactly that / I panned the three audio tracks when I was editing the video. Easy trick :)
Ah. I see. works really nicely.
Thanks, Ade! :)
Yes we are alive and we are living better cuz of steem. Don't you agree? You got me with that title. I was like, "Ohhh playing with himself.." Great work!
Hey man, thanks for the note! Yes, I asked a friend if I should use that title, and I went for it :)
Holy freaking cow man. That was incredible. Three tracks in one take? Get the F**k out. Amazing.
Thanks, my friend! I appreciate it! It took me WAY TOO MUCH time to mix this :) But it was a blast when it all came together. I want to try this more often. Let's see!
Buen vídeo amigo, me gusto mucho continua así.
Thanks!
