If this is the first time you've stumbled upon my Happy Whiskey Wednesday post, below is the backstory :)

Once upon a time a group of friends of mine on social media (when facebook was in its fledgling stages) started the tradition of Happy Whiskey Wednesday as a way of bringing some fun to the middle of a work week. It was our own cyber happy hour...s.
We would post kick-ass, upbeat songs to one another; we even turned it into a contest at one point as to who could bring the most fun and excitement to the party. Often the hilarity would go on into the night, with dozens of ridiculous pictures (and comments of course) added to the mix. So if you feel the urge please do join in the fun, either by making your own post or posting down below in the comments with videos or anecdotes, or really anything that floats your boats!!

Now I'm a little fish in this ever-growing pond, so I know it will take some time to catch on, but I'm going to keep trying it out, see where it goes!

I wasn't expecting that voice to come out from your bro. WOW. That man is talented. I'm liking this Happy Whiskey Wednesday idea to uplift spirits.

I have definitely had a few people say that about him, hahaha! Thank you, I love my brother, trying to get him on here :) It would be fun if I could get people to join in for sure, community efforts are awesome!

Love that deep deep voice!

Love that you Love it! Feel free to post videos in the comments if you're so inclined ;)

Happy day of whiskeys, I hope to have a good time, my greetings to your talented brother, congratulations dear friend @dreemit.

I will, thank you darling friend @jlufer ;)

Absolutely stunning!!!!!
WOW

Thank you, he is! Always happy to see you breeze in ;)

It had me wagging my tail and begging for more!!
AAAAW thank you, with great posts such as yours it's a breeze :)

I love whisky and you have a whisky voice! I grew up in a family that played anything they could pick up and had a country western band that played at grange halls and festivals ....ahhh, nice memories, thank you!

Well I will say thank you and you're welcome! Though it is my brother in this video, who I am attempting to yank onto the steemit platform, haha! Every comment like this is helpful in my quest! :)

Can you sing? Your brother is awesome.

I can carry a tune, but I'm the writer of the family, my dad is the painter :)

Oh I just noticed you said brother in your introduction...okay painting and posting don't go together...haha

You brother has such a full voice. That rasp while he sings really adds flavor to every song. I really admire his guitar skills ever since I first heard it, but he just continues to impress. Such a talented family!

I can't believe I have never heard this song before. It such has a homey feel to it. Very relaxing. Thanks for sharing this, my friend. So stoked about the reception this post has gotten! I'm always looking to Happy Whiskey (/Wino) Wednesday (though it's Thursday where I live now), and I hope that it catches on here on Steemit. It's such a fun pause from the weekly grind! :D

It would be really cool to jam with your bro, he seems so at peace and in tune with his passion for his skillful musical performances. Great performance, playing, and good singing. Upvoted

Great stuff!

Thank you!!

Original content, great talent and a very pleasant performance... possibly more users taking notice of this and doing something similar? All for the bargain of 20 bucks. Hand me two of those!

Thanks! I'm trying to get my brother on the platform, so these comments are a huge help! He has an album of original work, but plays a huge variety of covers as well. Plus he's just a great freaking guy :) I would love whiskey wednesday to catch on!

Sounds great!

Just be aware that some users, myself included may use the downvote ("flag", which even since the most recent change to it is still mislabeled and made much too powerful in some cases, in my opinion) to stop content from becoming overvalued when reaching this high an ammount for a single concert. Just so he isn't turned a way if he hits one of those little speedbumps.

The Busy.org team have also expressed that they are looking to truly separate the flag and the downvote from one another in their upcoming user interface.

More information about how I in particular use votes and downvotes can be found in my profile description.

Hm. Yes, I'm well aware of the downvote. @sigmajin wrote the 'book' on the proper way to use it, he's a steemit friend of mine. And I'm also friendly with beanz. Though most veer away from using it against new users as that is antithetical to the greater purpose of drawing more people to the platform :)
Thanks for your comments :)

Nesting limit. Another thing we need to fix.

We have to responsible when we have high enough reputations to do damage to others.

Absolutely.

LOL, yeah, nesting is irritating :)

I agree that, yes discovering a "flag" on your post could be an issue. But not using the downvotes at all or looking to inform everyone through word of mouth about what is the proper use I think will effectively just lead to "cult" behaviour that likewise will repell the average user of say Facebook, Reddit or the Google/Youtube comment section.

I don't think there's any happy inbetween with flags vs downvotes. We can't really combine them effectively the way it's done today, so either the flag icon and effects need to go entirely or we need to separate the two.

I'm hopeful that Busy.org will deliver a better solution on this front.

I've discussed the issue both with beanz and sigma over the last couple months. I was completely opposed to Steemit.com users exercising the actual flag icon for other things than what the guidelines described, but since the reform of the guidelines I've also had to reform my treatment of the downvote (flag icon).

I'm hopeful that Busy.org will find a solution and that Steemit.com will follow suit.

Yeah, the flag button is rather ugly, a simple downvote would go a long way to solving the negative connotations associated with this issue. I feel the same way as you, as far as reforming my ideas about it, however I still would never use it against someone new. We have to be responsible when we have high enough reputations to do damage to others.

Good luck in the competition ;) your brother really killed it !!

Thank you!! Can't wait until he's posting these himself :)
