After almost 60 days of silence, I decided to restart my witness node, hence, to reinvest time and energy in the platform at more than one level (that one level being writing, that is). Starting up the witness node proved to be a little shaky, I had a few missed blocks mostly because of configuration inconsistencies, but everything seems to be stable now.

The main reasons I'm restarting my witness node are partially outlined in this post: 5 Not So Obvious Reasons Steem Price Is Going To The Moon, but the most important ones are:

• the consequences of poorly thought and implemented experiments seems to have vanished
• the management of Steemit Inc seems to have come to a balance (or at least the public ins and outs between @ned and @dan are now controlled)
• the latest moves of the community are going into the right direction (still a long way until we're on a predictable uptrend, but at least the direction is good now, IMHO)

Technical and Economical

• kept my price feed discount at 1%
• lowered my SBD APR at 1% (previously 3%)
• kept the account registration fee at $5 (I use a script called steem witness toolbox, available for free on Github, for publishing the feed price and adjusting a few blockchain props)
• and, obviously, primed and launched a brand new machine, with 8GB RAM and 60 GB SSD storage, in a very well connected data center, for my witness node, which runs Steemd version 0.18.2.
