RE: Steemit As A Content Site Vs A Blogging Site
In my opinion, and maybe I'm wrong, cause I don't have a very long history here, Steemit is lacking on both sides. First, there is no difference between posting an elaborated post, with a good substance, with an idea inside, and simply posting a picture or a web clip. Anybody can check my posts to see that I have tryed both.
So, what's the incentive to write a long post, with original content, with good ideas inside? No wonder that Steemit is full of youtube videos, reposted again and again by a big number of users. And between that, there is somewhere a good post, which deserve to be read, if, and is a biiiig IF, you can find it.
On the social media side, there is too a lack of organization and tools to be such a thing.
Sorry for my critical view, but this is it.
No it is important we deal with it honestly, I get where you are coming from, and this is because we need better filtration of our posts. Right now all people see is a title and a pic, it makes it really clickbaity. And since only so many of your posts get seen, I see why people want to post smaller ones.

I do agree with you. Your view is critical but I think it is honest and valid. A post on Steemit is counted as a post regardless of length and/or quality.
You can't fight what the (Steemit) market likes and their voting habits but you could try to change the rewards and incentives system (maybe).
In my opinion, it doesn't matter what you can call or wherever side you might be for me it does the same functionality once you signed up and make an account here on steemit and you start posting whatever you published you are part of the algorithm, remember this is a social network platform build in cryptocurrency blockchain, so therefore all of us here is a process of a subjective mining a human contribution as per the CEO Ned Scott, me I don't see fair or unfair situation its all about you, how you drive your account, powering up steem, better understanding of this platform, no frustration just enjoy what you are doing and that will pay the prize.
