Don't be afraid as a society

Having fear and being afraid are two very similar feelings yet vastly different. To feel fear is a natural way we work out Risk vs Reward however when you become afraid fear has taken over which can cause radical outcomes or reactions.

Being afraid in society is negative because it means you will be more likely to act radically so you can feel safe again. In any interaction people use other peoples fear to their strengths, as people have more radical reactions when afraid they give away a lot about their personality.

Fear sells

I'm sure you have all heard the saying 'sex sells' but what we aren't told is fear sells. When a company or organization is selling a product or pushing an idea these two main tactics are used. If you look at any add for beauty products the most 'attractive' models are chosen and put in a desirable setting and along the way we are told that if we don't use their product we will suffer from so many issues and the sun will be a little less bright.

The same outline fits for selling an idea, the people pushing the idea will say that if you follow their idea the world will become better for You, everything is tailored to You, but, and we know there is always a but, if You don't follow their idea You will suffer.

Timing

Being at the right place at the right time can be very important. For example Airbnb when first pitched was turned town by numerous companies because the companies thought that people wouldn't want strangers staying in their home, then came a recession that effected multiple countries and just at the perfect time Airbnb swept in, a company that people could go through to advertise cheap rooms for people traveling. In the case for all the reasons that come with needing money, people become willing to do or agree to something they wouldn't have before.

Propaganda

When someone talks about propaganda I instantly picture a man with a big mustache pointing, I think of a tactic that was used in the past, before my time, however propaganda is still used all over the place today and it has been talked about over the past few years because of so much fake news going around.

Peoples are hyped up and made more fearful by propaganda, they then agree to give away things they normally wouldn't to feel safe. Then once the issue is solved peoples fear subsides but they have still given away something that they now may never be able to gain back. Then people again become afraid as they realize the extent of what has happened and what they have given away, this leaves a junction where people have to decide what to do next, try to gain back what was lost, try to move on, or follow what seems best for them.

Being afraid in society is something we all need to try and avoid because it will put us in situations we do not want to be in. Then if we manage to not become afraid as a society we will all see the positive effects.
