Independence Day
Ukraine is to celebrate its main state holiday this week, Independence Day. This year, it will be the 26 years since Ukraine's parliament passed Declaration of State Sovereignty, confirmed by referendum in 1991. The country was officially born by peaceful and historically objective processes following the fall of the Soviet Union.
For a nation, 26 years old is quite a young age, but the one when adulthood already brings challenges. I think the quote of one of my favorite writers John Galsworthy from his novel "Swan Song" (A Modern Comedy Trilogy) will be very suitable.
"That happens to most of us, before we're thirty. Some spring or other goes; but presently we get our second winds. It's what happened to the Age - something broke and it hasn't yet got it second wind. But it's getting it, and so will she."
Ukraine, to my opinion is now getting it gradually overcoming all the insurgencies of recent years. Hopefully we all are getting wiser and appreciate our beautiful land and people.
I would like to share this wonderful video dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day and the beauty of our country. The line of the song if to translate from Ukrainian is "Flower Ukraine is full of life".
Nice video indeed! Great shots! Thanks for sharing something of your country.
glad you enjoyed it. cheers)
