SteemChurch: Looking for Jesus

in #steemchurch6 years ago

When the magicians of the East learned of the birth of Jesus, the first thing they did was go and look for him. Vers. 1 "When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, magicians came from the east to Jerusalem ..."

Something similar happens today when people find out that Jesus Christ exists and that he is powerful also come to look for him. For this reason we see a temple, stadiums, and coliseums full of people who insist on seeking Jesus.

That people look for Jesus is not bad before, on the contrary, that is wonderful. The bad thing is that, like magicians, many people today do not really know what they are doing.

In this path of the search for Jesus we find some things that we must take into account.

  1. Many do not know how or where to look for it. vers. 2 a "... saying: Where is the king of the Jews, who was born? .."

  2. Adoration must be our search motive. vers. 2 b "... Because his star we have seen in the east, and we come to worship him ..." Why do you look for him? Many only look for it because they believe that Jesus will come out of their needs and concerns.

  3. Meeting Jesus must cause us great joy. vers. 10 "... And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with great joy ..."

  4. We must give ourselves to Jesus more than just ask for comfort for ourselves. vers. 11 "... And when they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and falling down, they worshiped him; and opening their treasures, they offered him presents: gold, incense and myrrh ... "Jesus Christ tells us that the true worship of God is the one in which we give ourselves as an offering. Romans 12: 1 "... Therefore, I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your rational worship ..."

When you go to the service you will surrender or you will demand miracles as the majority do. Remember that the great majority only promotes a gospel of comfort and miracles.

What causes us to meet Jesus?

  1. Persecution vers. 13 "... After they departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph and said: Get up and take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; because it will happen that Herod will look for the child to kill him ... "Many Christians, in order to avoid being rejected, prefer to make friends with the world.

Being a disciple of Christ means persecution of those who do not love Jesus. Matthew 5: 11-12 "... Blessed are you when they revile you and persecute you for my sake, and say all kinds of evil against you, lying. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven; for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you ... "

  1. Discomfort. Verses 14-15 "... And he, waking up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod; so that what the Lord said through the prophet would be fulfilled, when he said: Out of Egypt I called my Son ... "This does not mean that with Jesus Christ all things go wrong. This means that to serve God diligently we have to be uncomfortable. Many Christians are too lazy to disciple, congregate or study the word.

  2. Death vers. 16 "... Herod then, when he was mocked by the magicians, became very angry, and commanded to kill all the children under two years old that were in Bethlehem and in all its environs, according to the time he had inquired of the magicians ..." The arrival of Jesus to the earth and not knowing where to look for the magicians caused physical death in many children. Today the arrival of Jesus Christ to our heart must cause in us death to the things of the world.

Many only seek Jesus Christ to live comfortably but are not willing to give up anything for the love of Christ.

We must understand that once we have our life to Christ he is the one who takes care of us. Therefore everything that happens to us is according to his will and nothing happens by chance. Verses 22-23 "... But hearing that Archelaus reigned in Judea instead of Herod his father, he was afraid to go there; but warned by revelation in dreams, he went to the region of Galilee, and came and lived in the city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets, who would be called a Nazarene, would be fulfilled ... "

It is not just about looking for Jesus Christ. The most important thing is to know what we are looking for. If we only look for it to remove our physical or economic afflictions in which we differ from those of the world. They the baddest if they are sick they want to be healthy and if they are in debt they want a financial miracle.

You and I must seek Christ to honor him, to adore him and to love him with all our strength. Remember that everything else will come in addition.

I invite you, so that in this new year that God has given us, this is also your challenge, and you commit yourself, in a special way to really know Jesus, to enter into his intimacy, to let yourself be penetrated by his love and by his kindness, for his truth and his grace, for his word that teaches, that heals, that frees and that saves.

When we invite and look for Him, he is ever ready to look for us and come to our aid in times of difficulties. Thanks for your message @doumerromero

Me must seek for Jesus because he is the only way to eternal life he himself said

im the way, the truth and the life no one comes unto the father, except through me
That's why humanity needs to seek Jesus nor because of the material things he can offer but because of the salvation and freedom be brings

We must seek his face now that we still can fir there wull come atime when we will but wont be able to find it.
You and I must seek Christ to honor him, to adore him and to love him with all our strength. Remember that everything else will come in addition.

the path to find the through saviour is by taking his word which he gives us to our heart .

God gave you his word in the bible , he gave you everything you need as christain to be protected and guilded do not be desieved by anybody.
The church we attend sometimes we always be a part of distruction to all of those who practice the culture of a particular church which is sometimes away from what thebible teaches.
The devil has no power over your life always proclaim the gospel and the devil will always depart from you
Do not take decisions into your hand and do what your mind tells you and not definiatelly what the spirit directs you to do.

Look for Jesus with the right motive

Adoration must be our search motive.

He knows the intent of our hearts.

Many Christians today and from all eras of history. We identify ourselves as Christians, that is, as followers of Jesus, the Christ, the Anointed One of God, but we do not really know him, we do not know for sure who he is, nor why we follow him. We are clear about a few facts of his life in the world, we remember literally some of his words, as transmitted to us by the Gospels, and we can refer some of his miracles, but we have not penetrated his privacy, we have not reached the bottom of his message , we are not able to experience it, to feel it, to discover its constant presence at our side, to love it with all our hearts in the people who live with us. In short, our faith in Jesus, and therefore our relationship with him, are superficial and very poor.

That is why this question of Jesus to his closest friends is also opportune for us young today. "Who do you say that I am?" Jesus asks each one of us, 2,000 years after having done it to his disciples.

DR

The Bible said in Matthew 7:7 that if we seek for Him, that we'll see Him. And we were also assured that the door will be opened for us when we knock.

Most times, we only remember to look for Him when we are in trouble. And when the tribulation is over, we forget everything and move ahead.

Steady hunger of seeking Him is what He requires from us.
