The Chairman of the Board of Directors and former CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultz said that soon will appear "one or more" altcoins, which will be legalized, but it will not be bitcoin. "Bitcoin will not be the main currency either in our days or in the future," said Schultz.

Also Schultz added that Starbucks does not create its own cryptocurrency and does not invest in this area — yet it is just thinking about the future company and customer needs. Although he noted that he sees great potential in the blockchain.

Howard Schultz joined Starbucks in 1982 as Director of production and marketing, and last April, resigned from the position of CEO, handing it over to Kevin Johnson. After the speech, Schulz Johnson confirmed that the company does not have any blockchain projects and investments.

This is not the first case when Starbucks is experimenting with payment technology.
