BINGE EATING...EMOTIONAL EATING
WHAT IS BINGE EATING?
It is a eating disorder where you frequently consume large amounts of food. In a lot of cases it will be something sweet or salty where you are getting that sugar rush that feeling of instant gratification but of course it could be an overflowing plate of spaghetti but it will be in excess. Now that is the problem as it is like filling an endless pit. Emotional eating (binge eating) usually is caused by a trigger, stress, sadness,guilt, feelings of self hatred, fear the list goes on and on. Once the instant gratitude subsides the cycle starts all over again and there is this feeling of not being able to stop eating as you never feel full (fulfilled). Also binge eating is usually hidden from loved ones or friends so not only are you ashamed that you are doing this to yourself (as you usually have awareness) but you feel guilty that you are hiding this secret. I can only imagine how exhausting this is.
INTERESTING STATISTIC: Therapist have found that approximately 40-60% of men and women that suffer from Binge/Emotional Eating are victims of molestation/sexual abuse.
I often talk about how important it is to have BALANCE in your life mind/body/spirit. Well the initial reason that the Binge/Emotional Eating was started in the beginning is also the thing that has damaged or virtually destroyed your mind/body/spirit.
You have to replace the empty, self destructive feeling with feelings of love of self.
I AM STATEMENTS
WHAT IS A "I AM" STATEMENT
It is a very powerful statement that gives you awareness and makes it clear to yourself exactly what you want to create in your reality, imagine yourself there right now, with a very strong intention describe it beginning with the words, “I AM.”
Start by sitting comfortably on a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
Put your hands on your knees.
Close your eyes and relax(surrender)
Now you are going to start your "I AM' statement”
Now take your hands off your lap and cross them over your heart and hold reciting a statement/affirmation. Repeat.
Some loving "I AM" statments (personalize your own statements but at the beginning it might be easier for you to use the ones below. No rules just what is going to work for you.
I AM WORTHY
I AM HEALTHY
I AM SAFE
I AM FREE FROM GUILT
I AM BEAUTIFUL
I AM FAITH
As you practice this and get more comfortable with your self praise you can get more specific with your "I AM" STATEMENT.
"I am" loving this physical transformation that I have created! I am strong, I am healthy, and I truly love myself and I am feeling better every day. Yay me!”**
"I AM " STATEMENTS replaces negative thoughts and belief's with positive, reinforcement thoughts and belief's and also when you feel like eating to fill your VOID simply sit down and fill your mind/body/spirit with self love which is "I AM" STATEMENTS.
As you get more comfortable doing your "I AM" STATEMENT and see the positive effects it will become second nature.
Remember my friends to love yourself, always know you are precious and worthy, you have the freedom at any time to make changes in your life for betterment, and most of all life is short nuture your mind/body/spirit and you will be filled with an abundance of joy and happiness.
The feeling of being SAFE so know you have a SAFE HARBOR within yourself.
