Modern Work- Farmers Needed!

A century ago, 90% of Americans were engaged in agriculture. The Industrial Revolution was just around the corner, and young people were about to leave their farms for cities to join in. Factory labor flourished, and then sometime in the 1980s-1990s, the factories were offshored. Enter the current service economy where workers sell to each other.

According to agricultural statistics, approximately 1-3% of Americans citizens are engaged in agricultural production. If global population projections are correct, by 2050 each farm will need to produce 70% more food than they currently do to keep up with 9 billion people. In addition, according to the U.N., 68% of the World population will live in cities where agriculture is not permitted or possible by 2050.

Our current economy is a service-based economy dominated by retail and medical services. Some 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and job loyalty is at an all-time low. We need a change that will empower workers and rise to the demand in agrictual products we will require in the future.

What is needed is an agricultural revolution in America. Agricultural jobs are kinetic and satisfying. Farmers purchase futures contracts on their crops and are compensated by the government for overproduction and underproduction.
