Do you set any limits or constraints?
We can put constraints on almost anything, our time, money and business etc. The funny thing is that constraints often have unexpected positive results.
Sometimes it's better to work within constraints than keeping your options open. That does sound counterintuitive doesn't it as we often strive for freedom and openness.
What do you noticeably place limits on?
Do you feel that any limitations inspire creativity or boost performance?
For myself a work from home dad I have limitations with on time while helping to take care of our young son and this forces me to be at my best, to get things done even when it's not convenient. I figure the timing can never be quite right for optimal productivity so having constraints and limitations drive me to figure out more and better solutions.
Without my limited schedule perhaps I wouldn't have the consistency, persistence or determination to get the results I aim for. Constraints force me to produce and never let procrastination creep in.
This is why I feel motivation is over-valued, as I never wait until I'm motivated or think that motivation and good moods should always be there to get things done.
