The Greatness In Hemp Seeds

When it comes to the hemp market in the United States, it was estimated that in 2015 that market was valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. That includes all hemp products like supplements, hemp food, and hemp body care products. But when you factor in sales of hemp clothing and other products and materials, the overall sales are closer to over $500 million. Hemp advocates say that it's time for the federal government to embrace this crop and endorse the production of it across the country.

Hemp has been a source of food for thousands of years but just in the last few years alone it has especially become increasingly popular. Hemp foods in the U.S. are estimated to be growing in sales at a rate of about 20 per cent every single year. And these seeds are not only legal but they are frequently referred to as a super-food because of the nutritional benefit they can provide. Doctors even say that they can possibly be used to help reduce inflammation.

Hemp seeds come from the same species as the cannabis plant but that is where the similarities end, as cannabis is a very different plant and when you eat hemp seeds you don't get high. For those looking for more protein, hemp seeds have proven to be a popular product for them. And for vegetarians, this would be a great way for them to increase the protein in their diet. Although, there are other ways for them to get protein as well aside from eating meat.

Whether it's help with improving hormones, digestion, or metabolism, there's a number of different beneficial claims associated with hemp seeds as a food source. Hemp seeds are newly being embraced for their nutritional benefits as more people also begin to embrace cannabis and shed their fear of that plant and they become more open-minded to the possible benefit that it too could provide.
Hemp seeds are said to be a great source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that have been known to help improve overall cardiovascular health. These seeds contain calcium, iron, magnesium, and man other beneficial phytonutrients. And they are commonly referred to as a perfect protein.

Great post @doitvoluntarily!
I can add that a fellow named Bruce Ryan (no direct relative of mine) is a well-know cannabis hemp activist and freelance writer, in Canada. He is associated with http://cannasystems.ca
This company processes the hemp plants' core and fibres after the hemp seeds are harvested. All this valuable material is usually discarded and this company is providing cost effective processing so that the farmers can gain more from planting their land in hemp.
You can read some of Bruce's work on these topics here:

The other piece of value that I can add is that hemp seeds and hemp seed oil can be used to prime cb1 and cb2 receptor sites for other cannabinoids. This ultimately prepares the receptor sites to be more receptive to binding to cannabinoids like THC and CBD. If a person consumes hemp seeds or hemp seed oil about 45 minutes before they ingest (smoke, vape, or eat) cannabis it will produce a "higher" high that will last longer. Good practice for people who are using cannabis medically or for those with high tolerance.
Just wish we could grow it.
