Survey Finds More Than 70 Percent of Parents Will Send Kids Back to School

Homeschooling over the past few months has worked out great for some families, while others cannot wait to go back to the way things were prior to COVID-19. Whether they want the social engagement that goes with it, or their grades might have suffered because of the new format for learning online, there are a variety of motivations why kids or their parents might want to go back to the way things were in getting their education.

Homeschooling should be a freedom available to any family.

Homeschooling is made illegal in many regions in the world still today. Every individual and family should have the freedom to decide their own education path. No one has the right to force them to adhere to any cirriculum, or at least they shouldn't have.

For multiple reasons, many families today would prefer homeschooling for the freedom that goes along with it. There is more flexibility for families who need it. For example, take the family of military members who moves around frequently, it can be hard to switch from school to school. Doing homeschooling then is a much better choice. Or the student who has severe allergies and the parents want more control over the environment etc. There can be many reasons why a family might choose this path.

Classrooms around the United States and elsewhere are already busy making preparations to welcome students back into the classroom.

In the image above you can see that they've been making social distancing preparations, among other changes, to the classrooms so that it will be ready to welcome the kids back. But many are asking whether or not those changes will stick, and if it might just be back to socializing like normal within a matter of time through the halls.

Some of the drastic changes include:

  • desks put at a certain distance
  • thermal scanners
  • mandatory masks
  • staggered schedules

These are a few of the measures that are being put into place for schools around the world as they move to reopen slowly for in-person instruction.

Many families are looking forward to sending their kids back. One recent survey discovered that roughly 75 percent of parents are sending their kids back once it reopens. About 4 percent said that they were not sending the kids back to school, but that could be over concerns still related to COVID-19 or they might have enjoyed the new alternative so much they're sticking with it for good.
