St. Maarten Named The Most Innovative Caribbean Destination for 2020

St. Maarten has been heading a tourism comeback for some time now, and has recently been named the most innovative Caribbean destination for 2020.

St. Maarten tourism has grown over 100 percent in just one year alone and it is slowly making its way to becoming known again as a regional transit hub.

There are many high quality hotels to be found, beach bars, and since it is the chief port of entry for travelers to Anguilla it has also been helping to boost tourism to that region as well.

There have been steady efforts made into newly marketing Anguilla to tourists and those working with the tourist board say that they are happy to see their efforts finally paying off.

St. Maarten has been previously been described as a top destination for those who are activity seekers, there are plenty of things to do and see in this region. That might involve having fun at the beach, eating dinner at a great restaurant, going zip lining, or chartering a boat for the afternoon.

Not only is it a gateway to Anguilla but it's also a hub for travel to St. Barth and other areas too.

“This gives us the ability to promote the region as an island-hopping area so visitors can take advantage of all the different islands and what they have to offer,... That is why we get so many repeat visitors because there are so many different experiences.” - M. Chemont from the St. Maarten Tourism Office.

For this year St. Maarten has earned the reputation as being one of the most innovative destinations to visit in the Caribbean and that is according to the Caribbean Journal Caribbean Travel Awards that are decided on a yearly basis.

Right now because of their 'tourism renaissance' they are experiencing they've managed to earn the title for themselves.

There have been a large number of businesses in St. Maarten that have opened just in the last year, many bars and restaurants, hotels etc.

Overall, there are more than 35 beaches to be found in St. Maarten and there are many openings still scheduled for 2020, including a variety of spa residences in the region.

Roughly 60 percent of all the visitors heading to this region are from the United States or Canada, with a few others coming from Europe.

They saw a record number of visitors last year and almost 700 cruise ships make their way to the port. Now they are also seeing more tourists coming up from Latin America to visit the region too, and they say that is all thanks to their marketing efforts that have been ongoing in Central and South America.

Once a destination is lucky enough to be a stop by millions of cruise ships it is a given that the profits will flow endlessly into a tourist area. St Marrtin has done so well.

@doitvoluntarily, More visitors leads to more recognition and with more recognition comes the Growth. Stay blessed.
