Promote Voting Or Promote Self-Ownership

It's can get a tad bit discouraging to see people who used to be heavy-hitters in the area of promoting self-ownership, suddenly turn a corner and start backtracking in spending their attention and time promoting democracy (mob rule), voting, and statism in general.

In the last 50 years alone, what has voting achieved in the way of changing major policies? Arguably it has changed absolutely nothing of real value. The state of affairs is only becoming increasingly worse, as anyone who is paying attention can see that civil liberties and private property rights have been continuously eroded in the name of the 'common good'. And yet like clock-work when that election rolls around, the people scurry about, distracted in fighting each other for months; trying to convince everyone around them that their preferred leader would be the best yet.

What is even more baffling, is the fact that individuals can promote such statism whilst having also previously admitted to knowing that there is a corrupt hand that guides government policy behind closed doors. There is a small group of individuals influencing and running things who were never elected to do anything of the sort.

If you believe that there is a small group of individuals influencing things in a corrupt way then why would you want to waste your time (or encourage others to do the same) in taking part in the voting charade? Could you not entertain the possibility for a second that perhaps the entire affair was conducted in an effort to pacify or distract the public?

And if you agree that you own yourself, then you should also agree that others don't have the right to initiate force against you/against your will. That means they cannot simply assume that your consent has been given just because you deigned to be born into a collectively-run tax farm. If you think that you own yourself and you want others to know the truth about their natural rights, then why confuse them by promoting mob rule and statism?

I think that those who claim to be concerned with the cause of freedom, would see far more success if they spent their time trying to encourage statist individuals to start pondering actual ideas of freedom, self-ownership, agorism, self-responsibility etc, rather than spending months complaining about the election.

Can you promote the idea that you own yourself while also promoting/advocating for the existence of a state which has a higher claim over your own body than you do (by existing through extortion/not having sought consent)? I think it's rather hypocritical.
