Pranks And Conspiracies: YouTube Updates Policies Following Bird Box Challenge
A growing number of people have been uploading their Bird Box challenge videos to YouTube and in some instances there have been individuals who have injured themselves because of the challenge.
YouTube has responded to the growing trend that involves not only the Bird Box challenge but a myriad of other challenge videos as well that contain footage of people injuring themselves.
There are millions of videos to be found on YouTube involving people of all ages engaging in one prank after another.
Might the new crackdown on pranks and challenges persuade those users to go looking somewhere else to post their content? Although, it's still going to be a challenge for the site to find each and every video that seemingly violates their terms and it's likely that many will slip through the cracks as they have already.

This means that they will be updating the algorithms in an attempt to have conspiracy videos silenced across the board. In a post about the move, the company had wrote:
"[this could include targeting]... videos [that are] promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, claiming the earth is flat or making blatantly false claims about historic events like 9/11"
It's reported that the new changes will impact less than 1 percent of their overall video content. And they allegedly won't be looking to remove videos that are already on the site, but specifically be looking to reduce the recommendations for those videos already on the site, which they find to be perpetuating "harmful misinformation".

I been on YT for 6 or 7 years now. I always HATED how they pick favorites. All the better for DTube!!!

It is folly for people to post video where they are destroying themselves to other people as well. It is a good proposal to restrict these content unsuitable for children
