Ultimate Steemit FAQ Guide
Hello all Steemers! I've been on this site for almost a week now and can't express enough how much fun I am having! Not only am I enjoying the processes of creating content but I've recruited some friends and one of them already had a big pay day! Woohoo!

One of the best things about steemit is that the website is SUPER easy to use and anyone can jump on and start creating content. However, as users begin interacting with the site and trying to better understand the system it's only natural that questions start to arise. There is already a lot of content out there that discusses the basic "what is steemit?" and the "where does the money come from?" questions. However when it comes to the system itself - I've noticed a lot of people are asking a lot of question.

I myself have a dozen or so questions that I would love to get answered. For example - I recently added about $300 to steem power for my account - yet I still notice when I upvote most people's post the dollar value of the post I upvote goes down. Why is this happening?

So what I am asking from the community is if you have any question related to how something works on steemit.com please post it in the comments below. Over the next couple days I'm going to filter and organize these questions then make a 2nd post asking all the questions with a STEEM reward payout (that I'll pay with my own funds). Following these two posts, I will then create a 3rd post that will be the finalized Ultimate Steemit FAQ Guide.

For this to work well it all starts with users asking questions on THIS post. So if you have any questions that you would like to get answered please ask your question below and make sure to upvote this post ;) Thanks!

Let me know if you want help with graphics for it. Goodluck .

Thanks!! I appreciate the help and will let you know ;)

Great . I look forward to the collab. :)

Whales play a big part in the site. What is to stop them just voting for themselves and their friends all the time?

I love the idea!

Here are some questions that I have had:
(1) Why do some users' posts continue to trend and collect payment for more than 24 hours after posting?
(2) https://steemit.com/hardfork/@timcliff/july-26-steem-hardfork-question-issue
(3) Anything that helps guide users on how to get attention to their posts would be good.

Not sure if you want to go into other sites, but these may be useful to touch on:
http://coinmarketcap.com/
http://steemstats.com/#/
http://steemwhales.com/

I also think it would be good to post a guide on how someone who signed up for the site with no bitcoin/alt-coin experience will go through the process of withdrawing money they make from a post.

I'll try to think up some more.

I agree with this. I just joined today. I would like to know answers to the following questions:

  1. Why am I not able to see my owner private key? Does that only become available after I've been a user for a period of time, posted a certain number of articles, upvoted a certain number of times, or is there something wrong with my account?
  2. The payout process explained. It looks like the various login "keys" are actually Steem addresses, which makes me think I will need to get a QT wallet somewhere and import the private key to access my funds. Is that correct? If so, please explain each step for how to do it. If it doesn't work the way I think it does, then that would need to be explained thoroughly too. And if we're wanting non crypto types to get into this, then you can't take any kind of prior knowledge for granted.

BTW, once I understand the process better, I'm happy to write up tutorials with screen shots, so feel free to get in touch with me if you want some help. We could link to each other's articles, etc.

Where can I see a list of how I compare to other users?
