Touching Others

in #touch8 years ago

An interesting lesson I learned as a youth was that it was impolite to touch someone unless they specifically requested it. If you think about it, you will quickly understand to damage that would result socially. a1drjohnthumb.JPG

Perhaps my fanatical observation of this social posture explains my lack of friends. It is also possible that there are very few people who observe me and instantly wish for my touch.

This privately hurts my feelings when interacting with my growing family. I observe my grandchildren rush to other people to be hugged... but never to me. Somehow people sense my inhibitions and naturally avoid me.

The reasons why I learned this lesson and why it became a part of my adult behavior are complex. The short story is we all require periodic physical contact. If you recognize a situation in another that might be similar to me, find a reason to hold their hand.

Here is today’s beauty.

I guess I was lucky because we always touched each other when we were growing up.

It is so beautiful to hold loved ones' hand and tell them how much we love them.

The passage time comes with experiences, observations.
