Could we start again... PLEASE?
Looking back, I see many mistakes my parents made in my youth. These changed my entire life.
I am not complaining! For every experience I missed there were both good and bad results.
For example I was taught not to drink alcohol. My grandmother was part of the generation that supported prohibition in the U.S. This life as a tea-totaler kept me from many parties where other vial things happened. So in time I learned to be different. The lesson stuck and I still do not drink.
Not drinking eliminated me from many business opportunities. Being socially odd is part of who I am.
The downside to this kind of life is I never learned to be moderate. The answer was always 'no' rather than just a sip.
Still, I would rather not be odd. There are many other examples I could give, but one is sufficient to make my point.
Avoiding evil of any kind should be a good thing, but such a life becomes somewhat boring.
Here is today's beauty. She looks how I feel. We both are seldom invited to a party.
I like your beautiful photo ;) , Upvoted
It depends on how well the other party understands you. In my friend circle, I have a friend, who never drinks but always in the party. And everyone appreciate him, because he is the one who drops us after the party. 😊 He also enjoys the party.
I can relate - there was a time where I didn't drink at all - because I was drinking to much. Business associates mocked me - at dinners - and after their third glass of wine told me: We don't trust you, because you don' drink...
Hmmm...
We are in this world - but better not of it.
