The Teacher - Short Film
Many years ago while working as a teacher's assistant for the New York Film Academy, I met and helped teach a 17 year old filmmaker from San Diego who would become one of my dearest friends.
Today, he's launched the largest directing effort his life with DJI - the world's largest drone manufacturer - to produce and release a martial arts action short film!
He shot in the world's largest stages, with some of the best martial arts actions stuntmen in China along with one of the most accomplished cinematographers in the business, Amir Mokri.
I give you... THE TEACHER!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Jeremy did a great job making the action very kinetic. I think my favorite part is the bit woth the chef.
Yes. Love how it naturally pulls us towards the chef activity, after the first "transition". And how the chaos gets's picked up again. Very well executed.

It was A LOT. I don’t know the exact budget, but it was if I had to guess, well over half a million.

Colin Farrell told me Schumacher shot the ‘Phonebooth’ in 12 days! It was virtually one location. He said it was crazy. ‘The teacher - so rich in texture - must have been a real challenge to do in a week!

The best form of success is to have one who succeeds more than his mentor or teacher. You student has not just only succeeded in the craft you thought him but he has improved in all ways. And permit me to say that The teacher is an excellent one and from my point of view this ought to be dedicates to you.
I salute you for teaching that young 17years old then and it has paid off today.
You are the best always and dont stop doing the great job.
Knowing what resources needed to make this come to complete fruition is highly recommended.
