Look no further, you are what is called a multipotentialite.

If you too, you wanted to be a lawyer, live by yourself in a farm, be a writer, anentrepreneur, become a Youtuber or backpack in Australia and above all, to do nothing like everyone else it is not that you want to be noticed, no! It's just a powerful feeling, something that makes you feel so different. Different. Such a big word, so big that the atmosphere that surrounds you will eventually make you implode.
Welcome among us!

The multipotentialite is bored very quickly, not by lack of motivation but as a signal for the mind to transfer to a subject more interesting than the previous one. He gets bored quickly and he loves everything. But really everything (or almost). Politics can become a hobby and be swept away in a short time by marketing or music. He gets bored quickly, he loves everything and he is deeply involved. Knowing the reason for the fusion of protons in a three-dimensional universe is as interesting as understanding cryptocurrencies, the multipotentialite is like that, when something is interesting he goes for it.

But in fact what is a Multipotentialite (MP)?

If you have not really recognized yourself in this first and brief description, you may not be one. But it is not a super power or a sect, so I invite you to continue reading in case you encounter one in his natural habitat because the multipotentialite is a widespread specimen but hardly detectable.

Wikipedia is trying to give a definition of this term: Multipotentiality is an educational and psychological term referring to the ability of a person, particularly one of intellectual or artistic curiosity, to excel in two or more different fields. It can also refer to an individual whose interests span multiple fields or areas, rather than being strong in just one.

To sum up: A very curious person whose interests are infinite.

The MP was never able to answer the question "What do you want to do when you grow up?”
Simply because he already had too many children's dreams to be able to focus on one to realize.

Do not focus.

The key to success for the MPs is not to follow the norm.

Do you have cravings? Follow them.
Do you like to read, write or paint? Do all three at once if you can.

But never reach your breaking point, it would be the worst thing for a MP as you are, run if you can. The burnout will eventually give reason to those who seek to conform to the mass.

Wouldn’t you like to settle, do like everyone else instead of trying to get you noticed?

Hum, no I don’t want to settle. Besides, what does that mean? Put your ass on a chair and count the minutes that look like hours, with a background noise of your colleagues who tell you that the Christmas party of the office is no longer the 21th but finally the 19th? No thanks, I let you this chance.

You don’t give a damn about all of this, on Monday you want to be an astronaut and the Friday a movie star. What you dream of is to write a travel blog, listen to the latest TED conference on the importance of minimalism in one's own life and be free! Free to change jobs as you change desires, passions or goals of life.

In a job interview, you are absolutely not afraid of HR but it is your resume that is problematic for you. Well, yes, how can you explain to the man in front of you that has been in the system for 15 years that you in this 15 years you just wanted to run away from this system.

The world needs you!

Emilie Wapnick is a curious, talented entrepreneur with a multipotentiality syndrome. She was noticed in a Ted entitled "Why some of us don't have one true calling". See, the problem wasn’t that I didn’t have any interests it’s that I had too many.
What if there are a lot of different subjects that you are curious about, and many different things you want to do? Well, there is no room for someone like you in this framework. And so you might feel alone. You might feel like you don’t have a purpose. And you might feel like there is something wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with you. What you are is a multipotentialite.

Here we go. We have our definition.

Shared traits

Multipotentialite likes to learn. He gets bored in an environment that does not stimulate him: "I am bored in 99% of situations where my brain is not solicited on" says Anne-Laure Fréant.

They are able to collect all the data on a specific subject and are willing to devote time to it.
They have the ability to accumulate and assimilate knowledge quickly.

MPs have a real ability to adapt. Because they are not experts in a field, they know how to use the accumulated knowledge to synthesize them in order to apply it in any situation.
They will be able to assume different roles and functions within an organization. Because we live in a changing world, confronted with many crises, a global world, ultra-connected, constantly evolving and where the key to success will be our agility.

Fast compagny describes adaptability as the most important skill for the 21st century.

Creativity is a constant feature in projects or achievements undertaken by MPs. A simple topic of conversation or a film can inspire you 100 ideas of business, of future projects. Feed yourself from your environment and everyone around you, this is thanks to the life that englobes you that you’ll find how to navigate in your life.

A working team must be composed of experts who will be experts in their field, and multipotentialites who will have knowledge in a wide range of fields.

To conclude :

While this type of personality is considered a gift when it comes to De Vinci, Descartes or Hemingway, it appears in today's society as a kind of instability, lack of seriousness or maturity.

Assume you. Do not yield to the sirens of a society that would prefer to see you “get in line”. Love what you are and what you do. You are not sick or strange: you are a multipotentialite.

Hit the nail on the head there... Described my state of mind quite aptly and introduced me to a term that I never knew I needed. :) Thanks for this!
