Steemit vs Synereo. We could coexist

I am reading all this fuss about leaving Steemit for Synereo. Or stay with Steemit and do not touch Synereo.
Besides the fact that we have no clue what Synereo will become or for that matter what Steemit will become. It is all still work in progress.
Even in the traditional social networks (non blockchain) there is room for a new social network. And that is against big competitors like Facebook and Twitter. By marking out a distinctive niche, Pinterest and Instagram succeeded in gaining traction and building user numbers while complementing rather than directly competing to Facebook and Twitter.
But back to the real future. Blockchain based social networks. We can debate on feature differences or pay methods all day long. But what at least the IT people should know here, is that Alpha and Beta products are not the same as release candidates or the real end product for that matter.
One thing that does matter tough is, who is the first to get attention. That one will be big. It does not have to stay that way of-course (as we saw with myspace for example). But that is only when you have the same end game. Twitter and Facebook do very well besides each other. I have no clue why this should not apply to Steemit and Synereo.
One last thing
Somehow the cryptocurrency community always think there can only be one winner. I have no clue why this is. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum etc. are all doing very well. Just living apart together.
So relax a little ;-)

Independence day: We can find a way to Co-exist. can there be a peace between us? Alien: Peace? NO PEACE!
Something like that ;-) ?
My first thought as well

Agreed @disofdis. I see promise in both platforms and intend to get involved in both as well. Still much room for evolution as we are still in the infancy of this market.
It seems to me that Synereo is a system where someone pays you AMP's to read their stuff. It comes across as a very deliberate advertising type situation where the powerful get the money, as well as a mass of followers suckling at the teet. You can buy AMP right now and there was a massive spike since all this fired up on Steemit. Looks like people are positioning themselves already.
If Synereo made everyone start at zero, and earn their way up, it would be to my liking I guess.
Well that is true. I wrote something about that yesterday. The 1% is ruling steemit with there steempower. It is not there fault but we need to find a way to make it more balanced. Noone likes to be ruled by big money.
With Synereo you're faced with a dilemma that's probably been eating at most of us since joining...do I miss a second opportunity to get in early like I wish I had at Steemit?
Yeh indeed. But most of the time the change does not repeat it self. Everyone is already looking at Synereo. The Whales we know on every cryptocoin always where in before anyone saw it. Sometimes out of luck and sometimes because they have money enough to buy all coins ;-). And ofcourse some because they are involved and they deserve it then in my opinion.
I'm concerned about how thin I might spread myself. I work form home and have the time to spend doing this, but I think joining another may affect results for both.
It's too early to say what Synereo is even going to look like when it's released.
