Hi Steemit, I'm Josh
Hi there Steemit,
I'm Josh, 25 year old entrepreneur living in Lusaka Zambia. I'd like to say that made me Lusaka's first steemit user, but unfortunately I'm second behind my friend and Lusaka's premier resident genius, anarchist and just general awesome guy. My '9 to 5' is running my fledgling restaurant empire (fledgling because as of yet there's only one, but a man can dream right?) where I have full creative control over the kitchen and bar as well the general day to day management of my 180 seater gastropub very originally named The Orange Tree. If perchance there are foodies amongst this new community of mine, feel free to visit www.facebook.com/otpublichouse for a look at what we do.
I'm not a genius, I'm decidedly below average when it comes to coding, worse at anything more technical than that. I do however have a very firm and fond appreciation for the digital and technological world around me - probably why I see such potential in this little bit of blockchain genius! I also haven't really decided what I could possibly post on here that would give value to this community in a meaningful way, maybe quick, easy and/or healthy (notice the healthy isn't optional) recipes from a guy who's made a career of epic food that requires zero effort, after all, I'm a chef who owns and runs a huge restaurant at 25, and I only started cooking like 5 years ago!
Or maybe my musings on the systematic eradication of basic education on the subcontinent as a means of controlling the masses and ensuring painless power transitions in a very chummy manner whilst providing the illusion of democracy? Or how the #blacklivesmatter movement, in all its nobility has fostered a tangible anti-white sentiment amongst black Africans even though the trigger happy white cops of the US have zero to do with a dude who just loves cooking and loves Zambia such as myself? I might even run through the idea fostered since adolescence and preserved in a pile of used notebooks that are stored in various cupboards around my house, and how easy it really would be to sort the mess that is Africa out.
Chances are it will be a lot of those things. I don't know if that's the vibe on Steemit, as it's obviously going to have a fairly large tech tilt, but even so, you may have an interest in my ramblings! Looking forward to getting to know a few of you in the future.
Upvoted you
Nice to have you around!
I also clearly suck at markdown as my pics didn't show!
