Evanescense - Bitter Truth ( Album Review )

Regardless of the speed of the music industry,
Evanescence has not been in a hurry to release a new album. for them whenever there is something new and valuable to say, then it is time for a new release, even if it is a few years apart. with the exception of the release of "Synthesis" in 2017, which used more of "Oncence" 's previous compositions, it took ten years for the band' s album to release "Bitter Truth" and the bitter truth of "Oncence". in 2019 and in the middle of the tour "Synthesis" was that "Evanescense" started working on a new album. the outbreak of the Corona epidemic increased the motivation to complete the project, even if it required remote work and online recording sessions. maybe this chaotic world may not have a chance to end the album; but just as the video for the album's first single shows the daily grind and despair of quarantine days, so does working from a distance and trying to keep the feeling alive.

in the album "Bitter Truth" relies entirely on the use of new composition, although this album also has a bit of a band from the past. this small accompaniment can be part of a previously unpublished record or show itself in the text. the new album has a wider perspective and tries to look outside the inner world and emotions to the outside world.

"Amy Lee" has gone through the experience of the huge success of the band's first album, and the annoying fame that accompanied her overnight from a girl in black to a star, and as time goes by, she looks around more comfortably, and looks at herself. the dark side of "Evanescense" can still be seen in the track "Far From Heaven" written for the dead brother "Amy Lee". But the big difference is that "Amy Lee" on this album pays more attention to the issues around her. In "Blind Belife" he sings about the old wound of racism, which he re-enlisted in the events of last year, and in "Use My Voice" he abandons the old rule of not talking about politics with Lzzy Hale from "Halestorm". as a back advocate they talk about the American election, and with a torch in her hand, as a member of society, he speaks of the need to hear all the voices of society.
