The Future is Now

Hello everyone!

How exciting it is to live in these near Star-Trek days. Automation is making our lives easier and new technology continues to drive innovating products and greater degrees of freedom and information flow. And while we don't quite have "Emergency Medical Hologram's" quite yet, our advancements in medicine continue to amaze.

My interests lie in technology, futurism, and seeing the world not blow each other up. Watching things like AlphaGo make waves in the Artificial Intelligence community by accomplishing what seemed impossible and quantum computers becoming a reality is mind-boggling. As technology rapidly progresses, we too continue to move faster towards a singularity, but will it be all sunshine and rainbows? Or will our hubris end up with our kneecaps being taken out?

But enough of that talk... For the moment, the big item on my radar is block-chain financial technologies. As Bitcoin paved the way into this new frontier, we have seen many great additions to the cryptocurrency domain - take the exciting potentials of smart contracts on Ethereum for example. But who will come out ahead as the scene unfolds? It is so new, it is impossible to know, especially with the likes of the recent DAO hack. But one thing is for certain, block-chains are here to stay and they are only gaining in popularity.

I look forward to participating in the Steemit community and watching it grow to the incredible heights it surely will reach. We already have lots of great content that will continue to inspire new members to join. The day will come, when Steemit will become as ubiquitous as Reddit and we can all look back with smiles.... and bag fulls of Steem.
