Rohit Sharma scored a stunning hundred in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test against England. Rohit Sharma put his name next to Chris Gayle. Rohit has not scored a century in a Test against England for so long.

As soon as Rohit Sharma did that in the second Test in Chennai, he got his name on the side of Chris Gayle. In Tests against England, ODIs and T20s, Rohit has scored hundreds in all three disciplines.

Only Chris Gayle has this feat in the world of cricket. Rohit has two centuries against England in ODI cricket. The first was an unbeaten 137 in Nottingham in 2018, followed by 102 in Birmingham in the 2019 World Cup.

Rohit had scored only one hundred runs in T20 cricket before, in 2018. Bristol was unbeaten on 100 at the time. Then this season in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test held in Chennai, he scored 161 runs in a storm.

Gayle, on the other hand, has three hundred runs against England. The first is 105 runs at the Oval in 2004, the second is 104 runs at Kingston in 2009 and the third is 102 runs at Port of Spain in the same year (2009). Gayle's 100 runs against England in ODI cricket is 4.

The first was unbeaten on 132 runs at Lord's in 2004, the second on 101 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy in Ahmedabad in 2008, the third on 135 in Bridgetown in 2019 and the fourth on 162 in St. George's in the same series in 2019. Gayle's one hundred runs in T20 against England and it was unbeaten with 100 runs in Mumbai in T20 World Cup in 2016.
