Diego Armando Maradona
Diego Armando Maradona, born October 30, 1960 in Lanús (province of Buenos Aires) 2,3, is an Argentine international footballer turned coach. He played as offensive midfielder under number 10 jersey.
Nicknamed El Pibe de Oro ("The Gold Kid"), Pelusa, "D10S", El Diez, Dieguito, The Master, he is considered one of the greatest players in the history of football4. He is part of the twentieth-century world team.
A prodigy player of the 1980s and '90s, the architect of the Argentina team's victory at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, he is also one of the most controversial figures in sports and society because of his relationships at that time, his two positive tests in 1991 in Italy and in 1994 during the American World Cup and his cocaine addiction, which greatly disrupted his career as a professional player.
Le 28 octobre 2008, il est nommé sélectionneur de l'équipe nationale argentine. À l'issue du Mondial 2010 au cours duquel l'Argentine s'incline lourdement face à l'Allemagne en quart de finale (0-4), son contrat de sélectionneur n'est pas renouvelé.
