Thoughts after the first test in 2018

First test is over!
Teams are packing to return to work a little more than two weeks from now in Buriram, Thailand. This test will be held on February 16-18 at the track new for teams. So it's more like preparing for the Grand Prix of Thailand, which will take place on 7 October this year. There definitely will be some interviews soon. But let's talk about what we can learn from those lap times.
I see that there is something wrong about Marc VDS team. Or rather something wrong with their bikes. Tito Rabat, whose presence in the paddock I failed to understand last year, jumped on Ducati and was pretty fast from the start! He went for twelfth place in combined practice times. Remembering his realy poor results from the last two years I was surprised, that he found a seat this year. It took Sam Lowes half of the season to lose his. Now it looks like those Marc VDS Hondas are hard to ride and/or has poor performance. It makes me think what a hard season awaits this year's rookies Tom Luthi and Franco Morbidelli.
But this is just testing. Qatar race will put everything in its place.
