Ecobloom an awesome idea
Ecobloom, a startup that brings together young entrepreneurs from all over the world, has been working since the beginning of 2017 to develop an intelligent garden that lives on our aquarium. This curious technique is called aquaponia and offers great advantages over traditional cultivation techniques.
The idea is to create a balanced ecosystem between fish and plants, in which the fish provide nutrients to the plants, while the microorganisms that inhabit the system naturally filter the water, which returns to the fish.
How does it work?
In an aquaponic system the plants grow much faster and with much more density. When growing on land, the plants consume the nutrients, which ends up damaging the soil. However, in an aquaponic system, the flow of nutrients that the fish provide is continuous and that is why the growth is more accelerated.
The foods that come from aquaponic crops have another great advantage and they are completely free of pesticides or any other chemical that could be toxic. If such substances were used, the fish would not be able to survive. In addition, growing on water offers great protection against most pests and weeds that need soil to spread.
