The Bogstad Manor.Nature and history close to Oslo.
The Bogstad Manor, just a few kilometers for downtown Oslo, started it's history in 1649. The main buildings where constructed in the 18th century. Used as a residence for the most of it's history, today it houses a museum, a cafe-restaurant and of course a farm.Next to the manor there is an amazing English style garden with small ponds and fountains.
Definitely worth a visit one visits the Bogstad lake or the surrounding paths.
See my relevant post here.
Keep in mind that the indoor areas are open Tuesday to friday 12:00-14:00.
The areas outside are open 24/7.

Walking forward, with the manor on the right hand side, one can find a small wooden house, probably used as a storage room or workshop. There is a perfect spot for a resting and enjoying the view.
Perfect spot for resting, relaxing and eating that sandwich in your backpack!
You can check the location of the Bogstad manor on google maps here.
Keep in mind that there is a lot to do there, so bring lunch and water!
There is a bus stop just above the manor here but if you wish more frequent connections a few minutes down the road there is another stop just by the Bogstad lake.
